This concept car from 2000 was basically built to be competent on roads, off-road terrain that is mild as well as on gravel tracks
Audi Steppenwolf concept, based on the platform of Audi A3/TT, has a chassis that boasts of four level air suspensions, providing around 223 mm of round clearance .With suspension settings that adapt to the driving conditions and surfaces, the concept of Steppenwolf powered by 3.2 liter V6 that offered 220 horsepower. This setup was attached to a manual gearbox that is six-speed and that which can drive all the wheels through the proven full time Audi’s Quattro AWD system ,giving the concept car a 0-60 miles/hour just under eight seconds.

It had bumpers that were deeply contoured and dark grey in colour in contrast with the sand colour of the body. Along with the spotlights present on the door mirrors, these were specially designed to draw attention to the off-road potential of the vehicle.
A soft top that is detachable or a hardtop with a carbon fibre could be fitted to the vehicle. The sealed textile fabric soft top is fitted by hand like in several off-road cars.
