Digital SLR cameras for advanced users are loyal to the traditional design of pro cameras. But now designers seem to set free from that sedate tradition, and they have made its use easier, angling the bottom away from the user’s face. It is great as that will keep those greasy nose smudges off the viewscreen.

In this example designer Abel Verdezoto I. is picking on Sony’s Alpha DSLR, but it could have easily been one from Olympus, Nikon, Canon or any other manufacturer.
There is no base why a digital SLR camera has to be similar to its film-based ancestors.
